While there are many barriers to coverage mentioned by parents of uninsured children, a lack of knowledge on what programs are available and how to determine eligibility/apply seems to be the most fundamental challenge in working to cover kids.

The Michigan Primary Care Association, in partnership with the Michigan Association of United Ways and Michigan 2-1-1, propose this simple solution to overcome our most fundamental problem:

Make it easy for parents to enroll their children by offering one easy to remember point of contact and processing their applications for coverage over-the-phone.
