Connecting Kids in Greater Williamsburg

The United Way of Greater Williamsburg is proud to support the Connecting Kids to Coverage Challenge. Through its network of partner agencies, families are linked directly to local departments of social services to complete eligibilty applications for Medicaid and FAMIS and provided support for maintaining coverage. Several home visiting programs including the Comprehensive Health Investment Project of Greater Williamsburg consistently achieve their goal of enrolling 100% of eligible children served by the program in health insurance coverage and reaching 100% immunization rates. As a community, the Greater Williamsburg area consistently exceeds state targets for Medicaid and FAMIS enrollment, largely due to the concerted efforts of United Way community partners and other stakeholders.
