Aloha United Way has accepted the Connecting Kids to Coverage challenge.  For a decade, we have been working with Covering Kids Hawaii to help ensure the children of our state have access to health insurance by providing an easy avenue to coverage.  Through our statewide 2-1-1 program, callers can acquire information about applying for health insurance as well as receive an application.  We will also connect prospective applicants to an outreach worker in their community who can help guide them through the application process.  This collaborative effort has been promoted with great success via community clinics, public schools, non-profit agencies, government offices, fairs and expos, and with advertisements posted on city buses, shopping malls and even movie theater screens.  We have and continue to strive to help streamline the application process and provide information and links to resources that would otherwise remain unknown or inaccessible.
