Inland Empire United Way Connecting Kids to Coverage

Inland Empire United Way is proud to have accepted the connecting kids to coverage challenge!  We are working locally and with our State Association, United Ways of California, to see that eligible but un-enrolled children in our community are connected to the health coverage that they need.

We lend our support to UWCA's statewide advocacy efforts to promote simplification of enrollment and renewal processes and streamlining eligibility determinations. As part of these advocacy efforts, we assist by educating business leaders, legislators, and other community leaders about the importance of health coverage for kids.

Locally, Inland Empire United Way operates our local 2-1-1 center to ensuring that call specialists have all the information they need to direct families to Medi-Cal, healthy families and other coverage choices available in our community. Inland Empire United Way also works closely with the local Children's Health Initiative to ensure that San Bernardino County kids have access to care.

In the coming months, we plan to continue distributing information on coverage choices available to San Bernardino County kids through the programs we operate on behalf of low income families in our community as part of our overall commitment to improving the lives of children in the Inland Empire.
