City of Safety Harbor
On May 7, 2012 the Safety Harbor City Council passed and signed Resolution 2012-06 declaring support for Secretary Sebilius’ National Connecting Kids to Coverage Challenge recognizing the urgency to take meaningful steps to ensure those uninsured children that are eligible for Florida KidCare are covered. The goal of the initiative is to boost enrollment in the program by employing a number of strategies to accomplish that mission. Some of these strategies include disseminating Florida KidCare enrollment and retention information that is both at an appropriate literacy level and also culturally effective to those eligible families through community and business partners (governmental and non-governmental); offering support, technical assistance, and training on recruiting and enrolling eligible children to communities throughout the state; and increasing access to and utilization of quality healthcare services. The project will maximize community resources to inform families about available health care coverage opportunities and increase the number of eligible children enrolled in Florida KidCare.
